The Columbia University Club of Spain was created in December 2004. It is University-sanctioned club and we invite *all* members of the Columbia community to join.

News!

The Club has just started and we have so many fantastic things to organize ... ! We are looking forward to getting you involved, as well as your participation in our 2005 events.

We just had our first General Meeting and elected new officers. Coming soon on 'Club Leaders'!! This is only the tip of the iceberg. There are many students and alumni participating in the organization of events, such as talks, cultural trips, presentations and much more!.

Our first inaugural event was on June 7th by University Professor and Nobel Laureate Robert Mundell and the latest was given by Applied Physics and Applied Math Professor Thomas Pedersen about the future and prospective of nuclear fusion and the energy generation. On November 24th, Columbia Law Professor and Ambassador Richard Gardner will speak about his new book. In order to get all the details and invitations on time, sign up in our email list.

Mission

The Columbia University Club of Spain is a reflection of the University and its alumni. With more than 375 Columbians known to live and/or work in Spain, our mission, as defined in our statutes, is to:

• Promote the interests of Columbia University and all of its schools;
  
• Organize academic and intellectual activities for Columbia alumni;
  
• Organize events to encourage socializing between Club members;
  
• Assist the university by contributing to its recruiting and funding efforts in Spain;
  
• Maintain and strengthen the relationship between Columbia University and its alumni in Spain.
